The Mikes give away equalizer in extra time.

Injuries cost result
The Mikes welcomed Tamworth F.C. to Braemar Road Playing Fields for our first League game of the season and with the Mikes having Ryan, Jamiro, George & Raushan missing due to injury and holidays for the 13 players of the team it was going to be hard work.
The First half was a very cagey affair with both sides trying to break each other down and with Tamworth playing down the slope they had the majority of possession without really threatening the Mikes goal and with Hayden, Finlay, Les and Lee playing well at the back and Ethan & Charlie playing well as holding midfield they kept the Tamworth attacks at bay, but going the other way Tamworth were very cynical in giving away free-kicks whenever the Mikes looked like they would break through their defence and the physical game they were playing led to free-kick after free-kick for the Mikes, however, neither team could make the breakthrough and at the half it was 0-0.
The second have started with Tamworth trying to hold onto the ball and move the Mikes about but the Mikes then started to press the defenders and make them give the ball away cheaply and after 54 minutes the breakthrough came when Jack pressed the right back who played a bad ball that Ethan collected and played a through ball for Christopher to chase and showing great strength he managed to hold off the defender as he was dragging him back and just as the Referee was about to blow for a penalty he slid to get his shot away that beat the keeper and made it 1-0, however, there was some confusion as the Tamworth players thought that the Referee had whistled for the foul but he gave the goal. The Mikes started to play some great passing football after this moving the Tamworth defence around and on 62 minutes Harry raced down the left wing chasing a ball that looked to be going over the dead ball line but somehow managed to hit it off the defender for a corner kick, Ethan got the ball and played a quick corner to Jack on the top corner of the 18 yard box and as he shaped everyone knew what he was about to try and his high floated shot cleared everyone and nestled in the top corner of the net to make it 2-0.
As the game went on it became more physical and the Mikes lost Hayden and Les to injury and with Charlie and Lee carrying knocks the Mikes knew that the Tamworth players would push to try and get back into the game and on 80 minutes with the Tamworth players forcing ball after ball towards the Mikes goal, they chased a ball that was allowed to bounce without a defender attacking it at the edge of the 18 yard area and the Tamworth No.11 raced onto the ball to lift it over Casey giving him no chance and making it 2-1. The Mikes were now playing on the break and after 85 minutes Charlie cleared the ball over the Tamworth defence and Christopher never gave up on it leaving the Tamworth defenders flat footed he reached the ball went round the keeper but from a very tight angle he hit the outside of the post and to safety. Tamworth were forcing the game but Casey made a great block after the No.9 got free in the box and with over 5 minutes of extra time on the clock the Mikes never cleared the ball fully with players trying to run it out of defence rather than clearing it away and Tamworth managed to break through and release their No.9 on the right wing who outmuscled his defender and fired low into the far corner to make it 2-2. Although the Mikes pressed for the winner in the last 2 minutes they could not find it, however, the physical game and injuries to key players had cost the Mikes but they had shown they were a good footballing team and would improve the more they play together.
