Special thanks go to the AFC Wulfrunians physio for his brilliant help at Saturday's game.

Despite this match being massive for both teams, when The Mikes had a number of ongoing injuries in the final stages, the visiting physio provided assistance without hesitation while our bench tended to other players.

With The Mikes leading 1-0 and under severe pressure, this helped our players to get back on the field. After the final whistle, despite the obvious disappointment at the result in the visiting camp, he also provided valuable input as we dealt with the serious injury to our goalkeeper Sean Butler.

Football is full of different roles populated by people termed a 'special breed': Goalkeepers who put their heads where others won't put their feet; groundsmen who object to anyone playing football on their precious football pitches; kit men who treat every cone and sock like they paid for it themselves.

Physios are also one of a kind. Up and down the country on any given matchday, you will see medical staff and volunteers who put team loyalty to one side without thinking, to do the right right thing.

Football often gets a bad press about how players and mangers squabble over the smallest of things, particularly at the top level. However, amongst all the cash, hype and kerfuffle, there are these instances of sportsmanship that are a shining example to us all.

Thank you.
