Our youngsters were put together to compete in The Joel Richards Memorial Cup, which is the Birmingham County FA midweek floodlit competition for Under 18s.
Tividale made the early running but The Mikes got a foothold in the game and were in the ascendancy when Kasen Peace burst through to slot home and put us ahead. We were then rocked by the loss of Kyle Dean with a nasty looking ankle injury.
The hosts came back strongly and were soon level. The Mikes started positively but found themselves trailing when they failed to deal with a free kick and the ball was smashed home after a far post header rebounded off the post.
The home side seemed content to defend the lead and the last half hour was played out with Tivi defending deeply and playing on the break, while The Mikes searched for an equaliser. The home defence stood strong and the closest the visitors came was when Ryan Brooks latched onto a flick on to swivel and fire goalwards, only to be denied by a fine save from the keeper.
